General Funding Approach

The Quantum Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations and tax-exempt government agencies. Grant funding supports both new and existing projects.

 

New Projects

The Quantum Foundation provides the initial or "seed" funding to support new projects that:

  1. Align with one of the Foundation's three Focus Areas
  2. Involve one of the activities related to the identified Focus Area as described by the Quantum LEAP
  3. Have a project goal that supports the outcomes and long-term impacts of the identified Focus Area as described by the Quantum LEAP
  4. Demonstrate a shared emphasis on one (or more) of the Quantum LEAP measures of success, with specific project goals, activities, outcomes, and impacts that can quantify progress towards achieving the Quantum LEAP measures of success for your target population in a specific way
  5. Address a specific and critical need in Palm Beach County
  6. Are connected to relevant systems and partners (e.g., health care, education) in Palm Beach County
  7. Are innovative for Palm Beach County (i.e., the services provided and/or the service delivery method are unique)
  8. Will likely result in a significant and lasting impact at the individual and systems levels
  9. Are sustainable beyond Foundation funding

As a "seed" funder, the Quantum Foundation often looks favorably on opportunities to support pilot projects that -- if proved successful -- can be reasonably and realistically brought to scale (either with or without additional Foundation support).

 

Existing Projects

The Quantum Foundation provides funding to support existing projects that:

  1. Align with one of the three Focus Areas
  2. Involve one of the activities related to the identified Focus Area as described by the Quantum LEAP
  3. Have a project goal that supports the outcomes and long-term impacts of the identified Focus Area as described by the Quantum LEAP 
  4. Demonstrate a shared emphasis on one (or more) of the Quantum LEAP measures of success, with specific project goals, activities, outcomes, and impacts that can quantify progress towards achieving the Quantum LEAP measures of success for your target population in a specific way
  5. Have a proved track record of achievement in one or more of the Quantum LEAP measures of success

Quantum Foundation funding for existing projects is limited to 12 months in duration.
